So I've been couponing again or at least searching for the bargains. I really had no intentions on heading to Walgreen's this week since there were really no amazing coupon deals that struck me. However, as luck would have it, I am sick AGAIN. For like the 1,000th time this year. I am on my 3rd bout of strep throat of 2011, everyone say "AWWW. Poor baby!" So I had to head to Walgreen's to pick up an antibiotic and some other drugs. I still had my $4.00 Register Rewards from my trip last week. I had peeked at my "go-to" websites and had my eye on some deodorant. My trip was very simple and I earned another $4.00 Register Rewards for next week. Although the crayons are not from Walgreen's I had Scott step out of his comfort zone and ask for a price match at Wal Mart while he was there picking up oil stuff for his motorcycle.
My deals from Walgreen's...
1 3 ring binder
6 2 pocket folder (I still need to get 4 more for Camden's list)
2 Crayola crayons
1 male Mitchum deodorant
1 female Mitchum deodorant
All for a total of...$2.42 (not including my drugs...prescription drugs...not backstreet drugs). Plus I have $4.00 Register Rewards for next week at Walgreen's. I am really loving that I have been chipping away at Camden's school supply list slowly. I only have a few more things to pick and I am waiting for a really good sale on Crayola Washable Markers...come on big money, come to mamma. My toiletry and grocery budget for the remainder of the month is pretty slim, I think I got a little too excited on last Friday with couponing and spent more than intended. With what I already have stocked in my pantry and freezer, I am not feeling strained. I'm going to double check tonight to see if there are any must haves at Copp's, I think the Cascade Rinse Aid is free with the right coupons, so I might check that out. Happy Shopping. Anybody have any great savings tips or shopping trips you want to share?
I heard Toys R Us has buy one get one free on Crayola.....maybe a good deal for your markers?
ReplyDeleteThanks for the idea Becca. I'm going to have take a peek there. I saw this post on another site so I am not so sure it will be a good deal...although she didn't talk about washable markers. I wonder if Wal Mart would price match buy one get one?

Are you getting excited for the start of the school year Joshua? The kindergarten list should be out there at almost any store.
YIKES...I just checked Toys R Us website and the Crayola Washable Markers are $12.99 for a thin set of 8 or Thick set of 12...with the buy 1 get 2 FREE, each pack is over $4.00. I've seen them at WalMart for about $2.50. I'd like to get them for like $1.00 we shall see.
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear about the strep throat- that really sucks! A while back my daughter and I kept passing it back and forth... we both had it 4 or 5 times in one year.
ReplyDeleteWe went over to Toys R Us the other night..and you definitely have to watch the price mark-ups they have but I did get the 8 regular washable markers...they came out to about a buck a piece with the deal. And I got 3 of the pip squeaks markers--also a good deal. The other kinds not so great a deal.
ReplyDeleteAnd yes, we are excited. I picked up the list at Target while Mark and I were on a date night--how exciting looking for school supplies on date night, LOL.
